The Home page shows the Hoodstream feed that runs 24/7 except during live shows and the Hoodstream chat. To watch and listen click the PLAY > button in the lower left corner of the embed. The options on the bottom of all ustream embeds (from left to right) are: refresh the feed (the recyle button, play/pause, the number of live viewers, volume/mute, full screen.
During a show the hoodstream feed will not play music (except during set break of course). During a show you want to be on the Streams page where the streamers for that night are listed in the left column.
When the streamers are live you can watch or listen to any of the video’s on the left side by clicking the play button. Some streamers may only be sending audio and have no video due to bandwidth issues. It is easier to get a stream out without video. Ideally there will be one great audio stream to listen to and one or more video streams that you can watch with the volume muted.
The chat on the right is from Hoodstream’s ustream page so you have to create a ustream account and log in to chat. When you first try to send a message it will prompt you to create an account. It’s easy and fun!
If you aren’t getting any sound and other people in CHAT are then REFRESH the page.
If you are hearing echoing refresh the streams embed or refresh the page.
Make sure you have the right stream PLAYING (you should see the pause button if it’s playing) and make sure the volume is not MUTED.
Things can change fast with one stream dropping and everyone moving to another stream. Watch what is happening in the chat area and turn on/off streams on the page.
If a new streamer pops up at a show we will ad that stream to the page so people can watch/listen if that streamer has preferred sound or video.
Adjust your volume on your speakers or you can crank the volume in the lower right of the stream.
If you are having trouble log into the chat and post and one of the BlueMods will try to help you out, or some friendly Hoodstream user will try to guide you in the right direction. People in blue are moderators. You can right click on a username in chat and choose PM and send a personal message that will show up as a tab along the bottom of your chat screen and you can correspond directly. PM’ing BlueMods for help is a good way to get help!
